Each stocking measures approximately 46 cm long (at longest point) and approximately 30 cm across the main body.

The stocking features a classic William Morris print. The Compton print was originally commissioned for Mr Lawrence Hodson's Compton Hall, Wolverhampton in which William Morris was redesigning the interior in 1896. This was the last print Morris saw designed before his death that same year.
